Electronic Call Monitoring & Mobile Rosters Using Near Field Communication (NFC)

NFC (near field communication) is a wireless technology that allows the transfer of data over a short distance of around 4cm, it is very similar to Bluetooth but works over a much shorter distance. This technology is now becoming very popular for domiciliary homecare rostering and electronic monitoring. This method is very simple, it means that the carer does not have to use the service users landline in the way that traditional phone in and out systems work, which we all know some service users find intrusive. All the information that is collected is sent back to a central computer in real time. This information can then be used in a number of ways, from producing payroll, staff rota planning, re scheduling visits, recording mileage and locating any member of staff in the field at any time.
